Tesco’s Critical Illness Cover
Critical Illness Cover can be added to both the Fixed Term and Mortgage Life Insurance policies. This type of cover helps anyone diagnosed with a critical illness; the cash payment you receive can cover your medical bills and your living expenses while you take time off work. Anyone between the ages of 17 and 64 can apply for this policy. Your approval depends upon your lifestyle, family medical history, health and special circumstances. Your monthly premiums are not fixed. Tesco reviews your policy annually, taking into account medical discoveries in the treatment of certain illnesses. You may receive a more competitive rate as a result.
Tesco offers two levels of cover. A Critical Illness Cover with Fixed Term Life Insurance policy pays a cash sum upon your death or your being diagnosed with a critical illness. This cash sum remains the same throughout the life of your policy, ensuring your surviving family an adequate quality of life. A Critical Illness Cover with Mortgage Life Insurance policy also pays a cash sum if you are ever diagnosed with a critical illness. This cash sum reduces over the life of the policy in keeping with a standard repayment mortgage. This cover is also available as a Joint Life insurance policy.
Tesco covers many critical illnesses; heart attack, blindness, Alzheimer’s Disease and kidney failure are just some of the insured conditions. For many of the covered illnesses, you must suffer from permanent symptoms before filing a claim for a cash payment. Once Tesco has made a cash payment to either you or your survivors, your policy ends.
